Bloggers Thinking Above and Beyond Perks and Freebies

loot bags

Some people ask me why I hang around with people some consider to have tainted backgrounds. They will ask me why I allow these people to attend my events. They wonder on why I am not afraid of being branded as similar in nature. There was this issue amongst fellow bloggers about quarrels involving some of the bloggers that I often meet during events. The issue sort of got me a special mention because we were all together (coming from an earlier event) when it happened. Many were surprised why I kept on accepting them at my events as if they did nothing wrong against me (for involving me in the issue).

Baffling as it is….here is my story.

More Guidelines for Bloggers

First Laguna Blogging Summit

I hope that Bloggers will also follow these guidelines:

1. I shall scrupulously report and interpret the news, taking care not to suppress essential facts or to distort the truth by omission or improper emphasis. I recognize the duty to air the other side and the duty to correct substantive errors promptly.

2. I shall not violate confidential information or material given to me in the exercise of my calling.

3. I shall resort only to fair and honest methods in my effort to obtain news, photographs and/or documents, and shall properly identify myself as a representative of the press when obtaining any personal interview intended for publication.

2013 : Bloggers Traveling Into The Unknown?

into the sea

As the year 2102 finally bids farewell to us, I would like to make a very personal blog post about my observations towards the blogging community. I know I may be new and perhaps have not yet fully known or met the majority of bloggers but what I would be sharing is my first impressions based from what I have observed for the very few months I’ve mingled and worked with my fellow bloggers online and offline.

Many it seems are very passionate with their blogging in terms of being infront of their computers or mobile phones- 25 hours a a day and 8 days a week – with constant updates flooding our Facebook timeline. I can read all about their sighs, their frustrations, their joys and triumphs, etc.. Thanks to social media capable phones (and the free wi-fi Internet access in many establishments such as Burger King, SM and Ayala Malls, and many coffee shops in Metro Manila.

Many are also active attending events like four or more events per day – Wow! Talk about making blogging a fruitful career! Hataw talaga! Kumikitang Kabuhayang Swak na Swak! They get to attend several events, eat sumptuous food, get updated with latest product and services, and bring home plenty of tokens from the organizers. Its truly amazing a blogger can organize his or her schedule to fit several events in just one day.

Many are posting tons of photos on their social media accounts – hundreds of pictures highlighting the event and of course not to miss out on pictures of them rubbing elbows with the popular personalities!

However, I’ve also observed some habits which I believe are faults that may put a bad image on many bloggers (directly or indirectly involved with the issues). Read on!

Help Me Create A New Bloggers Group!

bloggers

Hey guys,

A few of my blogger friends has asked me to create our own group or network of bloggers that will be very different from the existing blogger groups which we believe are just too damn “complicated” and “inconvenient” for having too many restricting rules or requirements, and just existing primarily to become a means to get more hits or higher page ranks.

I understand the necessity for “law and order”,and the need to promote our blogs to stardom, but many are complaining its making blogging less fun and …well…a bit taxing for us who are just blogging for fun, as a past time, as a hobby, as a part-time productive means to spend…. or waste time, etc., and “not entirely” for profit, page rank, number of page views or hits, or even fame and recognition. We just want to blog and be happy with it, not deal with the complexities of comments exchange (and the likes) and learn to “police” or “discipline” ourselves to become professional and dependable bloggers.

To be fair, transparent and open to all, with no deception or trying to outdo each other. Our aim is to become a more united, with less issues and grievances, and helping each other out to excel and work well with PRs and clients who require our help and services.

Gone are the days when blogs are meant to express and not to impress? I hope not!

So could you help me out on your perception of an ideal bloggers group and how it should be laid out, and a great and descriptive name we should call the group?

Thanks, and let me know if you wish to join this group.
