Eiga Sai 2012

Eiga Sai started last July 6 at the Shang Cineplex of Shangri-La Plaza and will last until July 15. Since the first day was a Friday, still a working day for us and a school day for the kids, we decided to watch the following day, Saturday July 7, and intended to catch the 2:00 pm film entitled Ninja Kids (a live-action adaptation of a Japanese manga about little boys training to be elite ninjas and how they handled the situation when a real assassin shows up in the home of a fourth grader).

But unfortunately, the queue for that particular film was already closed when we got there. So we end up falling in line for Tomorrow’s Joe, (a live-action adaptation of a popular manga about two boxing rivals pitted against each other to determine their fate) scheduled at 4:30 pm.

Pimp My Pictures

Whenever I’m bored I try to think of ways to amuse myself, and sometimes what I do is to look at old pictures to reminisce, and then modify or spice them up a bit to make them a little more interesting or annoying (as what some of my kids would say).

If you could pimp your car, I would pimp my pictures (or photos…or photographs – whatever you want to call them).

The Big Bang Theory Artworks

Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists, the kind of “beautiful minds” that understand how the universe works. But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women. All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door….then two other nerds, Howard and Raj, join the gang and they start meeting a few more girls, Bernadette, Amy, Leslie, Priya and a few more guys like Stuart, Barry, Wil and other equally wacky characters that make up the cast of The Big Bang Theory.

Everyone love these guys so much that people even start making their own fan art, sketches, drawings, parodies, tributes, even dolls and t-shirts… and other artworks. Both pros and amateurs alike joined the fray and exhibited their obsession towards the gang that made us laugh for several seasons without fail.

I’ve compiled some of them and mostly just the artworks where the entire TBBT gang can be seen. Enjoy!

Of Logos and Winners

Congratulations to Jyppe A. Quidores, creator of Logo entry no. 9 for winning the FBW Logo design contest. He just won the following: one year domain, the property rights of the logo, Filipino Bloggers Worldwide featured blogger and $45.

He was my choice and 109 other people (the other 1 vote was from the logo designer himself) and won by just a difference of one vote.

My vote + Jyppe vote + 109 other people’s vote = 111 votes

Yes. A single vote was all that it took for Jyppe to win against the other leading logo design entry submitted by Ron Mia who got 110 votes. (1 vote from him and 109 votes from other people).
